The work of ecumenism through the Prairie Centre for Ecumenism goes on every day of the
year. Workshops are being planned and offered, sermons are being prepared and preached,
groups are being led. Resources are being produced and shipped, people are being
introduced to one another. Why? So that Christians may know the benefit of sharing deeply
with one another.
This work is being carried out throughout the Prairie provinces. We connect people from
all Christian denominations, encouraging them to worship and work together. The Centre's
ministry is to educate, motivate and facilitate, "behind the scenes" work which
is quiet and transforming.
Your monthly contribution to the ongoing ministry of ecumenism facilitates the
fulfillment of Jesus' desire that we may all be one as Jesus and the Father are one. "That
all may be one ... that the world may believe that you sent me." (John 17:21)
There are a number of ways that you can support the work of the Prairie Centre of
Ecumenism:
- participate in workshops and other ecumenical events
- order Growing Together, our bulletin insert series
- pray for Christian unity, for the work and ministry of the Prairie Centre and our
ecumenical colleagues
- volunteer to help with a project or event
- send or drop-off a donation to the Centre
- arrange to make "Pre-Authorized Remittances"
- donate through CanadaHelps.org
Your contribution is tax-deductible in Canada and wherever tax treaties apply.
The Prairie Centre for Ecumenism is a registered Canadian non-profit charitable
organization. Registration number: 10795 6633 RR 0001.
Pre-Authorized Remittances (PAR)
"I give by Pre-Authorized Remittance because the work of
ecumenism is one of my priorities."
- What is PAR?
- Pre-Authorized Remittance is a "direct debit" program that allows you to
support the ministry of the Centre through an automatic monthly withdrawal from your bank
account. Once a month all PAR givings are debited from givers' accounts, then
electronically transferred into the Centre's account. This happens around the 20th of the
month.
- How do I begin donating using PAR?
- Complete the contact form, call, or drop-in to the Centre to arrange for the PAR
authorization card to be sent to you. Send the completed card with signature and a voided
cheque to the Centre. We will do the rest.
- How can I change the amount of my gift -- or change to a different account?
- Simply call the Centre and we will provide the forms you need to sign. If it is a new
account, you will need to provide a new voided cheque.
- What about Tax Receipts?
- The Centre will continue to issue tax receipts on an annual basis. The Centre is a
registered Canadian non-profit charitable organization.
- Who administers PAR?
- The United Church of Canada, one of the Centre's supporting denominations, administers
PAR. If you wish further information about their PAR program, please ask.
- Advantages for you:

even in your absence.
- • You are helping to provide a firm financial foundation for the Centre and its ministry.
- Advantages to the Centre:
- • Regular, dependable flow of contributions -- we will not have to wonder of bills can be
paid this month.
- • Less paperwork for our limited staff.
- • Staff and Board will be assured of the authentic and deep support for the ministry of
ecumenism that regular giving indicates.
